Star anise Essential Oil is colorless to pale yellow with a fresh, spicy-sweet characteristic scent. Like Star Anise, it is a good masking agent. It is considered a middle note and blends well with Bay, Black pepper, Ginger, Lavender, Orange, Pine and Rose. Star Anise Essential Oil can be calming when used in very small dilutions.
Anise and Star Anise Essential Oils are often grouped together and sometimes are confused with each other as both possess a similar aroma and have similar, but not completely identical properties.
An annual herb native to Greece and Egypt and also cultivated in India, China, Mexico and Spain, Anise stands less than a meter high with delicate leaves and small white flowers. This Anise seed essential oil is steam distilled from the seeds of Anise grown in its native Egypt.
